Your mission

This is a full-time, London-based, role and reports to the CEO.

You would work closely with the Head of Ops in London, Head of Ops in Berlin and other members of the Leadership Team. 

We're seeking an experienced People Manager to support our team of 50 employees in London and Berlin. We're a friendly bunch and a people focused company.  This stand-alone role, reports to the CEO and works with the Leadership Team, combining strategic people initiatives with hands-on HR execution. The ideal candidate will be a doer who can both develop processes and execute them effectively, while understanding the unique dynamics of the flexible workspace industry and tech community. 

You will work with the Leadership Team to drive Techspace's strategic agenda.  You will coach and provide best in class HR across the full complement of disciplines: organisation design, change management, recruitment, succession and performance management, and culture.

Your profile


  • Leadership & Strategic People Partnership: Partner with the Leadership Team to develop and continuously improve employee, team, company, and functional performance.

  • Work with the Leadership Team to collect periodic employee surveys and ensure appropriate action plans are in place. Our eNPS score is good, and we want to continuously improve. 

  • Learning & Development Strategy: Build and roll out a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with team development needs as well as the company’s strategic and performance objectives. Support with career conversations to identify and develop our best talent. Develop training plans to develop talent and deliver excellence.

  • HR Policy, Compliance & Employment Law: Manage employee relations, troubleshooting and resolving complex situations while balancing business risk.

  • Ensure compliance with UK and German employment laws, including preparing for the upcoming UK Employment Rights Bill changes.

  • Create and implement HR policies that reflect and support our hospitality-minded culture.

  • Oversee compensation and benefits administration across both markets.

  • HR operations including payroll (working with finance), leave management, HR systems, salary benchmarking and reviews. 

  • Performance Management: Lead the evolution of our performance approach. Oversee and continuously improve the talent review process, ensuring managers are supported with the right resources and tools. Identify opportunities to automate and scale talent management practices to drive consistency, efficiency, and impact across the business.

  • Organisational Design & Change: Help guide the business through growth and change by shaping how our teams, processes, and ways of working are set up. Make sure any changes are handled clearly, fairly, and with strong communication and engagement at every step.

  • Culture, Engagement & Wellbeing: Act as a culture and values champion across the business.

  • Drive employee engagement initiatives that strengthen community and belonging.

  • Lead onboarding to set employees up for success, and manage offboarding to ensure a positive transition.

  • Integrate DEI into daily practices, making it a shared responsibility across teams.

  • Support line managers with the wellbeing and development of their teams.

  • Handle employee queries and complaints with care, ensuring timely follow-up.

  • Partner with managers and employees to improve working relationships, boost morale, and increase productivity and retention.

  • People Metrics & Reporting: Deliver regular reporting on key people metrics to inform leadership decisions and improve employee experience.

Required/Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Experienced generalist HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management role. Dynamic SME background would be useful.   

  • Experience in hospitality, real estate, or customer-service focused industries

  • Understanding of flexible workspace or property management operations preferred

  • Good knowledge of UK employment law. Knowledge of German employment law helpful

  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employee relations

  • Experience with processing HRIS systems and HR analytics (Techspace uses Personio)

  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (German language skills are advantageous)

  • Ideally the jobholder will hold a CIPD qualification

  • Experience as an HR partner and with a strong customer service mindset

  • Experience working with multi site teams across multiple locations

  • Understanding of tech company culture and workspace needs

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment

  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.

Location & Travel
